About Gizmo

Hi! I'm Gizmo...a handsome terrier-about-town with a distinct point of view. I will write about whatever interesting things come across my desk, appear on my twitter feed @GizmoGeodog, or meet me out on the geotrails. I love to geocache cause it takes me to all the wild places & I can get back to being a real dog. I care about all my brofurs & sisfurs who haven't found their own forever homes yet, & raise funds to help them whenever I can. My girl brought me home from the shelter & together we explore our world. I do my best to make her smile, & she does her best for me. We are a team.

What a beautiful hiking trail!! I’m guessing that was Spanish Moss and not icicles in the third and fourth pictures? 😉 It sure looks like great fun!

    • Gizmo says:

There are gators in the lake Emma, but Mom & I stayed high on the ridge far away from them so we were very safe 🙂 Happy happy New Year Emma!

I love all of your nature pictures! I expect to see a dinosaur to pop their head out somewhere lol. It reminds me of a prehistoric scene of something. And you look like you are having a fabulous time!

    • Gizmo says:

Thank you so much! Maybe not a dinosaur but we do have wild hogs in the more remote areas…I’ve seen them on the trail before…Happy New Year Ann!

  19. Hey Giz, Jetty here. Hi Miss JG.

Guess what? Mom was up in Boynton yesterday and when she took my Nana out, they saw Sandhill Cranes on the side of the road! She said they look so majestic.

Gorgeous, gorgeous photos… you are really getting us revved up to find a way to visit. 🙂

Wishing you a healthy, happy and abundant new year. 🙂

    • Gizmo says:

Hiya Jetty! That’s so kewl that your mom saw them too 🙂 We are so looking forward to a visit here with you…Promise we’ll take you to the very best places! Mom & I wish you, JJ and Miss L a very happy, healthy & loving New Year and send you tons of Happy2013Snoogles*

      • Hiya Giz…

That’s a deal… Mom has GOT to figure out the logistical thingies!!!

Oh the very same to both of you… substituting Jetty kisses, JJ hugs and belly rubs from Mom!!!

  20. It looks like your two had a great time. We don’t have trails in NY. Happy New Year.

    • Gizmo says:

Happy New Year BJ and Lynda! We love our hikes together … and that other link was just a test post I did while setting up a new Windows app…sorry if it confused you *snoogles*

  21. 2browndawgs says:

That looks like a great place to go for a walk! Beautiful pictures. Brown dawgs would have been in that water in no time. 🙂 Happy New Year to you!

    • Gizmo says:

It is a great hike but I do warn my friends with water-loving dogs that this trail borders the lake most of the way & the water is always in sight so they need to keep that in mind before joining us. Lucky for me, I guess, that Gizmo really doesn’t like getting wet so I’m pretty safe 🙂

  22. Wow, what a great hike! I can’t believe you saw an otter, Gizmo! That’s so cool! They are one of my favorites.

    • Gizmo says:

It was a wonderful morning and the otter was the cherry on the sundae for me…We both remained still enough (thanks Gizmo!) for him to stick around a while and let us watch
