About Gizmo
Hi! I'm Gizmo...a handsome terrier-about-town with a distinct point of view. I will write about whatever interesting things come across my desk, appear on my twitter feed @GizmoGeodog, or meet me out on the geotrails.
I love to geocache cause it takes me to all the wild places & I can get back to being a real dog.
I care about all my brofurs & sisfurs who haven't found their own forever homes yet, & raise funds to help them whenever I can.
My girl brought me home from the shelter & together we explore our world. I do my best to make her smile, & she does her best for me. We are a team.
I need to wait at least 4 months to see those beautiful flowers.
We have to enjoy them now before summer comes and it gets too hot
Count on you Florida people to have gorgeous flower photos in January!! Beautiful!
I’ve been enjoying all the beautiful snow photos lately, but thought I’d offer up a touch of ‘local color’
We have flowers popping up, that shouldn’t be for another 3 months. What beautiful flowers 🙂 Pop over..there is something special just for you 🙂 xxx0xxx
Mollie and Alfie
Wanted to bring efurryone some cheery Spring color to brighten yur day…Time to “snake” over to yur place now 😉
Lovely Gizmo. We want Spring. The birds here are singing their hearts out and next come the cats making a racket along with the foxes. Have a wonderful Wednessday.
Best wishes Molly
Thank you 🙂 Lots of birds singing here too and many butterflies around…Definitely Spring!
your flowers are EXQUISITE!! HAPPY WORDLESS WEDNESDAY!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Thank you…This variety is called Lake Morton (we live about 1/2 mile from Lake Morton) and is always the first to bloom around here
Those sure are pretty, we’ve got a few months til our dull winter colors become pretty again. Thanks for sharing.
it’s good to share a bit of spring color when we can 🙂
Thanks for this wonderful flowers, that’s so nice to sea some colors instead of our currently gray with gray and gray ;o)
Your Spring will come soon Easy…Ours is just early so we shared 🙂
I think you’re the only blogger on my feed who’s in a more tropical climate than us. We’re a few weeks out from Azaleas even here, although I did get local strawberries in the market last week.
I’m a little put out that our outdoors season is being replaced by the rainy season. Mud everywhere!
We’ve had more winter rain than usual…That may be why they’re blooming this early…You’ll get your spring color soon I’m sure
Hi Gizmo!! Those are some pretty flowers! Mom doesn’t plant those flowers because she says she doesn’t have a “green thumb”…but somehow she can keep both orchids and pineapples alive. Maybe its because she doesn’t have to do anything to them?!? BOL
Actually mom does nothing at all to them…someone gave her the bushes, a nd all she’s ever done is cut them back some…they’re her favorite kind of plant cause they take care of themselves…and mom has had NO luck at all with orchids 😦
We are ready for Spring; thanks for sharing!
Spring is our favorite season…Enjoy yours!
Your azaleas are beautiful! I love the rich pink color!
Gizmo,
Your so lucky! We just got a forecast that its going to snow again this weekend! Wagging Wordless Wednesday!
Maggie
Stay warm Maggie…Spring will come I promise
Ha! Only in Florida!
Are you growing strawberries by chance? Tis season!
Christie from lifewithbeagle.com
No, I get mine from Plant City…they’re always so good this time of year
What beautiful flowers:-)
we love our azaleas…they’re so cheerful and bright they make me smile
Spring???? Those are beautiful flowers, I bet they smell good too.
Yes, it’s early spring here …everything is waking up and starting to bloom
They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so glad they brought a bit of springtime to everyone today
Can’t wait till spring. Great pictures. Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Thank you!
Beautiful flowers!
I love that red dots on the petal
There are so many varieties of azalea and I do think this is one of the prettiest
Woof! Woof! WOW and that’s early isn’t it? Beautiful pink flowers. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Maybe a couple of weeks early, but it’s been a mild winter with some rain so we’re getting an early spring
They are so pretty… it’s going to be a while though before we see anything like that around here!
I know it’s early for most but thought everyone would enjoy a little springtime today
Hi Gizmo. Mother Nature is so confuzzeled. It’s gonna be 56 degrees here on Caturday. Mama says that isn’t good at all. Last winter was so warm, the whole cherry crops in Michigan failed and the annual tulip festival was cancelled in Holland, MI. The flowers are pretty, but Mama says this is just bad, bad, bad.
That’s not good…I didn’t know that Michigan was having such a warm winter. Doesn’t much matter here cause winter crops are pretty much in… They’ve already begun planting for the late spring/early summer crops like lettuce and greens that don’t do well in summer heat and the strawberries are already being harvested – YUM!
They are beautiful…but man, am I jealous! Happy WW!
I saw you all bundled up today…Look at the flowers and think warm thoughts:)
Wow! Y’know, I’m going to tell myself my azaleas are blooming too. I just can’t see them under all the snow. 🙂
They are, they are…I’m sure of it! 😉
Hey Giz, Jetty here. Hi Miss JG.
Wowee wow wow are they ever beautiful… BOL… we’ve barely had a winter, even for us!
It’s true…it’s been really mild…warmest winter in quite some time…i’ve worn a sweater exactly once and haven’t pulled a jacket out of the closet yet
They’re beautiful flowers!
Thank you Clowie!
Nice looking azaleas. There are a lot of plants here where I live. About 5 large greenhouses full! Lol… my family owns a nursery.
Nope can’t compete with that 😉 But i am proud of these…They were culled from a neighbor’s yard and headed for the compost pile when I rescued them about 5 years ago…A little TLC got them established and now they bloom profusely for me with no effort
I love azaleas! They used to be so pretty in the (real) spring when we lived (briefly) in Philly. In San Diego, it definitely doesn’t seem spring-y right now! In fact we are supposed to have some super cold weather in the next couple of days – lows in the 20s and 30s! Unheard of here!
That’s bizarre…I didn’t think San Diego ever got that cold…The Weather Overlords are obviously confused this Winter…You’ve got 20’s & 30’s while up in Michigan it’s 56 and no snow…
Oh those are beautiful!
Thank you Carma!
Your Azaleas are lovely. My Forsythia is blooming which is odd it is usually the end of February before it blooms.
I remember forsythia as an early bloomer in New Jersey … Usually one of the first every year
Ha spring! A lil early to call it that here, we had a high of 38 today!
Yay, spring already – I’m excited!! 🙂
I hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
